Registration is now open for our 2016 Work-Shares! We are offering 3 work-share positions this summer.
A work-share is a way to receive our CSA share in return for farm work. This is great opportunity to get some hands-on experience on an organic farm, some fresh air and exercise over the summer, and fresh veggies all season long! A farm is a busy place, and we are always in need of extra hands.
How It Works:
Work-share members receive a small CSA share (add-ons not included) in return for 4 hours work a week on the farm. A work-share lasts from June-October (18 weeks total).
Work-share members come out to help out on Harvest Days (Wednesdays or Fridays). We ask that you pick one 4 hour shift and stick to the same schedule throughout the season; being able to work consistent hours every week is important, as training is a large investment on our part, and we rely on your help! Missing weeks for holidays is understandable (you will not receive a share on those weeks), but we do ask that you commit to as much of the season as you can. Please let us know if you cannot make it, or consider sending a replacement in your stead.
What will you be doing?
Tasks will largely centre around harvesting and processing (washing, weighing, bagging), either outside in the field or inside the barn.
No farm experience is necessary. Farm work is very physical and at times tedious; the most important things you need are a good attitude and some physical endurance. We work rain or shine, so make sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing (that you don't mind getting dirty!). We will supply work gloves.
Please fill out the form below to apply. We will get back to you to work out the details. Thank you for applying; we look forward to working with you.
